Getting in Touch with your Lawn

A note on rain, ground conditions and service delays:

We understand that it can be frustrating when services are delayed, especially on days that appear dry. However, surface conditions can be misleading. While a lawn may seem walkable, heavy equipment like a 1,000 lb mower can sink, creating deep ruts, damaging sprinkler systems, utility lines, or even requiring a tow- resulting in significant property and equipment damage. Some companies may proceed regardless of risk, but at LattaCorp, we prioritize long-term care and safety over short-term appearances. We would rather return to tall grass than compromise your property or our machinery.

Mowing on wet ground can also:

-Compact soil, inhibiting healthy root growth.

-Cause uneven cuts and machine damage from grass clumping.

-Leave clumps that can kill patches of lawn or promote fungus and disease.

-Create bare spots, increase weed growth, and result in poor drainage over time.

Prolonged soil compaction can prevent proper water absorption and potentially cause standing water near your home's foundation- a serious long-term issue.

Lawn Care tip!

Letting grass grow occasionally helps it reseed naturally. The seed heads that form will drop during the next mow, encouraging healthy lawn regeneration. While it may not always look pristine, longer grass can contribute to a healthier lawn overall. Ironically, cutting longer grass often requires more effort, time and fuel- yet your bill remains the same. Just something to keep in mind.

A final thought:

Whether you choose to work with LattaCorp or another service provider, know that reputable landscapers treat each client as a top priority. A single rainy day can delay work across dozens of properties, creating an unavoidable blockage. We prioritize properties based on how quickly they dry, not on favoritism.

We thank you for your continued patience and understanding. Weather, equipment issues, and life's unpredictability may create setbacks, but the quality of our service remains a top priority.
